Meet Yoga Instructor Gindy Nagabayashi

Gindy’s Bio:

“Yoga creates space. Space creates freedom.” -Unknown

After a knee injury, Gindy began her journey into yoga to find an alternative to running. Little did she know that it was the beginning toward living her dream. Her dedication to her yoga practice soon helped her strengthen her injured knee. She recovered from her injury through diligence to her practice. She gradually began running feeling  and recently accomplished her goal of finishing the Safari Park half marathon in San Diego.

Her incessant need to control every aspect of her life often created more chaos than order. With yoga, she felt open and lifted. She noticed that every time she came out of savasana, a lightness and ease overcame her whole mind, body, and spirit. What she thought was just an intense workout unexpectedly helped her beyond the physical body. She began taking the teachings from her yoga classes into her daily life. She learned that a level of surrender can not only lift you up into an arm balance, but when she surrenders to the present, she is the most happy.

Through her exposure to Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras during her yoga  teacher training, she began to listen to the inner wisdom of her true self, rather than the expectations and dreams of others.

Needless to say, yoga changed her life. She feels so privileged to be surrounded by a loving community of yogis. Most of all, she is elated to share yoga with others and hopes with one practice at a time she can help her students create space and ultimately freedom.
